Layout Boundaries
Want an L-shaped layout? A triangle? You can do that!
TrackPlanner.app has the ability to design your layout to match your real-world space. Whether you’re working around walls, furniture, or just experimenting with creative shapes, adjusting the layout boundary is quick and intuitive. Here is a quick video showing you how to edit the layout shape.
Editing the Layout Shape
To customize your layout, switch to Layout Boundary mode using the mode selector at the top of the screen (next to the main menu). From there, you can reshape your layout however you like:
-
Resize the layout - Drag the grey corner handles to adjust the size and position of each corner.
-
Add a new corner - Click on any line segment between two existing corners. A button will appear—click it to insert a new corner at that location. This is perfect for creating L-shapes, alcoves, or more complex outlines.
-
Remove a corner - Click on a corner to select it, then click the trash icon to delete it.
-
Select a preset or rectangle You can use the Change size button at the bottom screen to open up the layout size panel. It has a few quick presets, as well an option for custom dimensions.
With just a few clicks, you can move beyond simple rectangles and design a layout that truly fits your vision. Don’t worry about getting it perfect right away—you can always come back and adjust the boundary later if you need to.
